Career
Baseball with US Army, Fort Sill Rangers 1978 - 1981.
Position: Catcher, Middle Infielder and leadoff batter.

Leonard continued his baseball career after military service with the Laurel Blue Sox as a middle infielder.

During his military career, Leonard also was a Boxer for the US Army.
Post champion, three years running at Ft. Sill, OK.
Post champion and Representative in All Army Tournament for Ft. Benning Boxing team.

He started his coaching career in 1987, at Midway Park, Dekalb County GA. as a baseball and football coach. He continued his coaching career at Redan Park in 1993.

In 1996, he was introduced to Girls Fastpitch softball by his wife Ellie, former Director of the Redan Ravens Softball Association and daughter, Sojourner (Sojo) Moody, where helped start the Redan Ravens Travel Softball team.

In 2003 Leonard joined the GA Elite 18 Gold, coached and founded by Daniel Caldwell.
During his tenure as a softball coach, Leonard has been very instrumental in coaching and training a host of softball players that have completed collegiate play and or still playing at that level.
